Five Major Functions of Forest.

A forest has five major functions to our lives. First, a forest will keep water flowing to a river directly. The excess water will be absorbed by the tree roots. In other words, a forest helps to prevent the flood because the excess water has been absorbed by the tree roots. Second, a forest can help to prevent the landslides. A forest helps to provide soil nutrients, and from its nutrients the forest can keep the soil’s solidity in order to prevent the landslides. Third, a forest provides home for animals. Animals can live there, because forest is their natural place to live. Fourth, a forest helps to provide food for various animals. Animals can get the food from the forest, because forest produces the food that animals need. The last but not least, a forest also produces wood that is important to our lives. Wood is important to our lives, because wood is often used to make furniture, ship, paper, handicraft, and build a house.
